CES 2016: The Pepcom Digital Experience Press Event

Digital EThis year like always I kicked 2016 off with CES® (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas. The first day I landed I had to rush to Pepcom’s Digital Experience Press Event. I love going to Pepcom because it’s not as packed as the Las Vegas Convention Center plus Press gets to see it before anyone else! This year, like last year, CES® was all about the Drones and 3D printers (there was even an annoying drone following me around the conference and other people as well). Considering I covered this stuff throughout 2015, I wanted to focus on the new and innovative products I checked out at Pepcom’s Digital Experience.

KUBE 1The first intriguing product was the KUBE Speaker that is an insulated ice chest and speaker system all in one. I asked the company representative how insulated is the inside? Also asked if the ice melts will it seep into the speaker immediately? She said that they have a very high quality insulation for the ice chest and that would not be an issue. The KUBE Speaker has Bluetooth connectivity, 35-quarts of insulated storage, Backlit controls with access to play, pause, change songs, or reconnect, and an audio system pushing out 125 decibels. It also provides 20 hours of continuous entertainment and is water proof.  The KUBE Speaker System will be available by summer for $1,099.

selfy canonThe Canon Selphy CP 1200 Wireless and Bluetooth Printer is the newest products from Canon. With the Canon Selphy CP 1200 is super compact and can even fit into your tote (or if you have huge purses like me). The Seplfy printer can print on postcard size paper, label size, Square, and even 8 small little stickers at a time. Another cool feature is you can print to the SELPHY CP1200 from any of the following; AirPrint, Canon PRINT app for Android, iOS and Windows RT, wirelessly from your computer, wired via USB, Camera or USB memory cards...the list goes on. It goes currently for $ 109.99 which you can purchase here and it also comes in two colors, Back or White.Nikon

Nikon came out with the D5 Camera at CES® which has, a new 20.8MP FX-format CMOS image sensor and EXPEED 5 image processing, Widest native ISO range ever in a Nikon full-frame DSLR: ISO 100 to 102,400 (expandable to Hi-5, ISO 3,280,000), Redesigned AF system with a 153 focus points, 99 cross-type sensors and a dedicated processor, 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) video recording and pro-grade video features and 12 fps continuous shooting with full AF and AE performance; up to 200 shots in a single burst. I’m not a professional photographer but the D5 camera looked beautiful with amazing features but it is $6500 (I could go on a week-long trip to Europe at this price).

FIsher PriceBack in my day toys were not nearly as cool as today. Fisher-Price came out with the Think & Learn Code-a-Pillar that will teach kids how to code (allot cooler than my Talking Computron). Computron

The Code-A-Pillar is the newest toy in the Fisher-Price's Think & Learn line for children three to eight-year-olds who want to be potential future coders. The ease of use is great since there are no screens and has a simple start button that signals the toy to activate.  The Code-A-Pillar is $50.00 and is tentatively set to be available in June 2016. I’m a horrible driver, to be fair I lived in San Francisco for years without a car and learning to drive again now is not like riding a bike. Considering my grocery store, my favorite restaurants, and stores are within a 15 mile radius I think I could make use of the new Arcimoto SRK Generation 8 daily electric vehicle. The Arcimoto SRK Generation 8 has a top Speed of 85 MPH, it can go from 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, and its travel range is 70 or 130 miles.  The current base price is $11,900 and production is set for late 2016. If you want to check out more of the Arcimoto SRK Generation 8 or would like to reserve one click here.Arcimoto

Though I saw allot of other innovative products these five were my favorite of the 2016 Pepcom Digital Experience Press Event. I'm pretty sure whomever's drone was following us girls around the Pepcom Digital Experience Press Event got some great chest pics...thanks pervert!

This was only day one at CES® for me and soon I will post my top picks from the Sands Expo and Showstoppers events at CES®on Hi-tech Chic. For those who missed this year’s CES® the CES® for 2017 in Vegas is January 5-8.

See  you all next year!
