Nokia Lumia 1020- Shopping for a new phone
I have had my iPhone 4 for just over a year and it’s time to upgrade. I have been holding out for the new iPhone 5 S but I am getting impatient waiting for it to launch. It’s been a while since I have been excited about technology especially smart phones till...be still my heart the Nokia Lumia 1020.
Nokia has created a Windows phone that is a camera first at 41 megapixels and a smart phone second. When I first heard 41 I wondered, why 41… why not just 40? Instantly the movie This is Spinal Tap came to mind “BUT these go to 11.”
The Nokia Lumia 1020 has a 4.5-inch screen,1280 x 768 resolution, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset as well.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is designed to take quality pictures at 41 megapixels so that you can use it’s zoom feature to crop and create photo’s with better detail then the standard smart phone especially those in far distance for a blur free shot each time. It has a feature call “dual capture" which means the Lumia 1020 simultaneously takes 38-megapixel and 5-megapixel pictures so you can post to social media quicker.
I love taking pictures and with my family out of state, I take and post a lot of pictures to keep in touch. I rarely use my phone to talk but the apps I use daily…and that is my only concern…
Can I switch from apple’s iPhone to a Window’s smart phone? I had to do more research. After reading a few articles of apps it lacks (like YouTube) it looks like as much as I love this device I use too many apple apps daily to migrate. It is rumored the Windows 8.1 update will be less buggy and support more apps but it’s not released till next year.
If you you’re a photographer the Lumia 1020 is the smart phone for you but if you utilize allot of unique apps you may want to wait till the update. It is available now at AT&T stores for $299.99 with a 2 year contract.
