CrowdStar creates first-ever mobile game experience timed with the launch of the Broadway show
Burlingame, Calif.—February 14, 2013—Today mobile game developer CrowdStar and Lulamae Productions are unveiling a modern twist to a beloved classic, with a mobile game to be released to promote the 2013 Broadway production of Truman Capote’s ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’
Announced in early October, the show will hit the stage in March 2013. HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke is slated to play the iconic character of Holly Golightly, originally portrayed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film, and Tony® nominee Sean Mathias will direct the production. Based on a new stage adaptation from Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony® Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg (‘Take Me Out’ and ‘Three Days of Rain’), the upcoming show also boasts Academy Award winning costume designer Colleen Atwood of ‘Chicago,’ ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ Tony® winner Derek McLane is also on board to lead the set design.
Structured by Indomitable Entertainment on behalf of the producers, the partnership with CrowdStar represents a move to leverage the mobile platform to reach a wider audience and to promote a Broadway production. The game will be officially released in February in advance of the show’s previews, which will begin in March. The mobile game aims to play a key role in promoting the stage production and driving ticket sales to the latest iteration of Truman Capote’s famous work.
