My Best Buy Holiday Wish list
I'm a geek CuteGeek! And as a CuteGeek one of my favorite pass times is shopping, and one of my favorite places to shop at (especially during the holidays) is Best Buy and BestBuy.com. The reason is because their prices tend to blow out the competition, have a larger selection of items and typically have everything I want; from that big screen TV to that tiny keychain digital picture frame or as you can tell from my picture everything for my Wii (which I purchased last year)! Best Buy is the spot to go to for batteries, movies, games and even some of your favorite child-hood candy since their checkout counters resemble the latest CVS - with a ton of impulse buys, that I, impulsely buy :) - it’s where I go when I need an electronic that I prefer to touch and feel, instead of just checking out through a click. That’s why our first sneak-peak holiday gift guide of the season are things that I want/have/recommend from Best Buy.
The first thing on my list is the 55” Samsung UN66D6000S LED HDTV! Who says girls don’t like big...
I love big screen televisions and Samsung makes the best ones if you asked me - at $1399 the UN55D6000S is a steal!
Don’t forget your HDMI cables if you’re getting a new TV this year! You don't want to spend a ton of money on a nice TV that makes your shows look crummy.
The thoughts of wall mounting that baby in front of my bed is a major turn on for me!
While I may love my Nintendo Wii, this year I want a Microsoft Kinect and an Xbox 360 (why not??). With all the cool games like Dance Central, and the new Star Wars game which is coming out for it - who in their right mind wouldn’t want one? Plus you can also use your Xbox 360 for media content and watch Netflix and Hulu on it (hello - cancel that cable right now!).
Best Buy has various Kinect Bundles available starting at $299. The Kinect itself cost $149. If you live in a small apartment like me, you may also want to invest in the Nyko Zoom for Kinect, it allows you to use your Kinect in smaller rooms and it is only $29.99.
The next item on my list would have been something that CISCO brought us, but they decided to kill their camera biz and got rid of the Flip. Their loss, now my money will go to Sony as I want the Sony Bloggie. Sony now has a 3D version of the Bloggie which I am dying for. The bloggie pictured is the 3D version.
I never owned a bloggie but Michael from HardwareGeeks.com did and before losing his (what a tool) he swore by it. He loved it more than his Flip and used it more than his Samsung TL325 digital point and shoot.
Best Buy has a full range of Bloogies to choose from, I say go for the 3D one!!! (Gunnar makes some sweet 3D glasses BTW)
I also want a Nikon DSLR camera! I am not big on DSLR cameras, but it is on my list of goals - I want to learn how to use them. Something about a camera that powerful, just makes me feel powerful, and I would love to get my hands on one of those Nikon D3100 cameras. The price is a bit high for my budget at the moment but as soon as I need some retail therapy, they better be in stock because I want one! Just look at that bad boy below!!! Growl!
I can smell the hate mail already if I don’t include the next item on the list. Apples iPhone 4s, I know if I did not include it someone would find away to make Siri say she hates me and all CuteGeeks out there
But yes I do want an iPhone 4s, and I would love to have one and I know plenty of other people would love to have one, and while best buy has them, I don’t think I can justify the expense of one right now (they go up to $800+ WTHeck???!!!). It makes the list because it is an AWESOME device! (according to the world of i-DOers)
Finally I really want, and while some may not consider it to be a geeky gadget, I do and I really want the CHI Air- Flat Iron, in PINK! I never thought I loved pink until I looked at most of my accessories and noticed they were pink...I've definitely come a long way since my tomboy days. I also have to keep my hair done in order to remain Cute! although the curls never get old - straightening it just guarantees a couple of more minutes of ZZzzzZZZ's.
The Chi Air features a switch that will allow us ladies to set the heat settings. I for one am tired of 1 temp for every style hair irons. It also is supposed to help maintain your hair healthy which is always a top concern for me. The $99 price tag may seem steep for some but beauty and healthy hair shouldn't have a price-fixing it or reworking it is usually more painful.
Everything in this guy can be found in Best Buy stores and online at BestBuy.com.
Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!
