Unboxed! Toshiba Satellite M645

by on November 23rd, 2010

I just received the Toshiba Satellite M645 and I’m very excited to see what it has to offer.  This baby has a Blue-ray Disc Player, the premium sound package and something called Toshiba sleep and music.

Toshiba sleep function allows you to charge your USB devices while it is in sleep mode.  Even when it’s not plugged in!

The laptop is geared for music geeks and features harman/kardon® stereo speakers!  Which I must say are quite impressive for a little bitty laptop.  It also has a built in web cam, microphone, wi-fi, ethernet port, HDMI out port, 2 USB ports, memory card reader and RGB Monitor port.

Review: Toshiba Mini NB205-N313P

by on August 2nd, 2009

IMG_0553“It’s so cute!” Those were the first words out of my mouth when I opened the box containing the Toshiba Mini NB205-N313P. I was given one to test in “Posh Pink,” but it’s also available in Frost White, Royal Blue, and Sable Brown.
Like all netbooks, it’s small and lightweight. However, the Toshiba NB205 seems a bit larger than some other netbooks out in the market. This is partly because it comes with a six-cell battery, which I’ll talk about more later in this review. Regardless, it still only weighs a little less than three pounds.

The laptop cover has a matte finish with diagonal etches. It sports a large Toshiba logo in the middle in a shiny silver. Open up the laptop and you see a glossy 10-inch LED screen with a full keyboard. A full keyboard on a 10-inch netbook is rare so it’s definitely a plus for the NB205. For a notebook, the keyboard was pretty easy to use. You have to get used to it at first, though. I punched in a few wrong letters the first few times I used the netbook.

Help! Nina is in search of a new PC!

by on April 8th, 2009

It all started at CES this year. There I am in front of the hotel after 3 days of CES boondoggles and I had this jerk of a bell hop making me wait an hour for a car that I clearly could see was not being used.

So after being told I should just walk my tootsies down the 3 mile strip; I blew up on him.

Unbelievable! I mean I was in 4 inch heals and seriously what happened to the customer is always right?! So after an hour of waiting plus a theatrical display of dissatisfaction…I threw my tote down. Accident #1!

Ada Lovelace Day

by on March 24th, 2009

I recently wrote on a friend’s facebook page (MJ – the first female tech blogger I met) and she then responded by linking me to this site:

I have less than an hour to give kudos to a female in technology so I wanted to take this time to write about Jane Poon, of Toshiba.
