We at CuteGeek.com and what we like to call our Papa site, HardwareGeeks.com have worked hard to put together a Father’s Day Gift Guide with products we think dad’s will love.

First on the list is TiVo Premiere HD, the perfect gift for any man. Technically, the TiVo is for Dad but we kids, wives and girlfriends will not hesitate to enjoy it too! Dad will load the TiVo up with his favorite shows and we will do the same but now that dad knows he won’t ‘miss’ anything, he is more likely to finish some of those around-the-house project while we watch our programs LIVE, knowing that once we go to bed, the TiVo and TV are his!

TiVo Premiere can be purchased at BestBuy or TiVo directly for $99 (45 hour recording time) or $299 for the XL (150 hour recording time) monthly service plans start at $19.99. It works with Cable, Fios and over the air antennas. TiVo is also giving away a Man Cave, click here for more info on that.

Second on our list is something that will help keep dad active and healthy. It’s the Nike GPS watch powered by TomTom which is available at Nike Stores and at Nike.com for $199. It encourages dad to be active by promptly him to know if he wants to go on a run, praising him when he does and will even track how fast and where he ran. He then can connect his watch to his computer and sync it with the Nike website so he can see a visual map of where he ran. Any dad would love to have this watch.

The next product to make this gift guide is also from TomTom. It’s the Go 2535M Live GPS Navigation System for automobiles. Radiris, one of our founders, loves her Go Live and never leaves home without it. TomTom is the only GPS maker on the market with GPS devices that get smarter the more you use them. With the HD Traffic, IQ Routes and live traffic updates every 2 minutes, the TomTom Go 2535M is a great Father’s Day Gift. It is available at Best Buy for $349.

If your dad travels or works on-the-go, you may consider signing him up for Mobile Broadband service. Clear.com offers 4G plans that start at only $45 a month and for a limited time you can get the modem for only $25 dollars. Sure you may stick dad with a new bill but at least when he travels he can still be online secretly playing Farmville on Facebook! Monthly plans are also available.

Another great gift for dad, whether he travels, carpools or works from home is the Seagate GoFlex Satellite, an external 500 GB hard drive that dad can wirelessly connect to through his tablet, PC or smart phone. This gadget is perfect for the dad who takes long trips and wants to watch movies without paying $6.00 while he is 30,000 feet up in the air.

If your dad isn’t a road warrior, he would still enjoy loading this wireless drive up with content to use at the office, during the commute or on family car trips, and since it supports up to 3 simultaneously users, he won’t mind if you all log into it too (using your headphones of course!) so he can have his choice on the car radio. For more info on the Seagate Satellite visit Seagate.com.

Not all great dad gifts need to be big ticket item. Here are two accessories your dad can use with his laptop that he may like…. a notebook sleeve and a USB Key Chain branded with the logo of his favorite sports team. The company that makes them is called Centon and they have licensing agreements with MLB, NASCAR, NFL and various colleges across the US.

Michael from HardwareGeeks.com loves his New York Mets branded Sleeve and USB Keychain. The sleeves fit notebooks 15.6 inches or smaller and the USB Key Chains are available with 2 – 16 GB of storage. You can pick them up at Best Buy, K-Mart and other retailers.

Whatever you do for Dad this year, he is going to love it because you took the time and were thoughtful enough to remember him. If you want to choke him up a bit, personalize your gift by unboxing it, getting it set up and maybe even loading some content onto it…whatever it takes to show him that you chose this gift for him for a reason (which was not the sale price!)…. like for instance, load some family photos or home movies on the Seagate GoFlex Media drive, get a matching sportswatch for you to show him that you plan to sweat alongside him, or commit to a monthly movie evening of marathon “Star Trek” or whatever it is you and dad enjoy together so that TiVo becomes the tech that bonds you.

Happy Father’s Day!!!

I am a sucker for relationships and love, it is in the crab in me, so you could imagine the excitement when I received the opportunity to read about TiVO’s new campaign: TURN ON THE LOVE

The TiVO Premiere is the “world’s first Smart DVR” that can stream music, movies, shows and web videos, in addition to recording your favorite TV shows, and even suggesting what you should be recording based on what you have been already.

How can this heat up your love life?

TiVO conducted a survey, asking TiVo, cable DVR and non-TiVo and non-DVR users questions about the quantity and quality of time they spend with their honeys, and what they found out is that TiVO is the new Doctor of Love. To read more about the survey: TiVo Date Night In Sweepstakes – TiVo

According to the survey, 86% of TiVo users spend at least one hour a night plus weekends snuggles up next to their significant others opposed to just 75% of non-TiVo users. TiVO users even admitted that bringing the TiVO box has heated up the home, even in the bed. It could be due to more nights staying in, which I must add that staying in means less money being spent, and in a recession that can lead to less time fighting and more time for romance, with TiVO.

TiVO linked up with Greg Bernhardt, relationship expert, comedian and author of He’s Just Not Into You (the self-help book the movie was based on), to offer the dos and don’ts of using technology to improve the love meter. He offers: “With any relationship, you each have your own favorites when it comes to music, television or movie preferences. If your significant other loves “Grey’s Anatomy” and you can’t miss a Lakers game, TiVo helps you find a middle ground to build a collection of both your favorites. This way no one misses what they want to watch and both parties are happy.”

TiVO is celebrating Turn on the Love by hosting the TiVO Date Night Sweepstakes. One lucky winner will receive a prize pack that consists of a TiVo Premiere DVR; one year of free TiVo service; one TiVo wireless G network adapter; flowers from 1-800-Flowers.com delivered to the winner’s significant other valued at $100; and a $100 gift certificate to Restaurant.com for the couple’s romantic dinner. Those interested in improving their relationship with TiVo Premiere can enter for a chance to win at facebook.com/tivo.

HURRY!! Sweepstakes ends May 31, 2011 but if you want, you can just get it on your own. Check out TiVO’s website TiVo product information – TiVo

First off it was a very clean and simple for what seemed to be a complicated product for myself. The product is pretty small and light weight at 1 lb, 3 oz and 19.8cm wide x 17.3 cm deep x 7 cm high.

The small form factor makes it something that can be easily hidden for those who hate showing electronics out in the open, and I am one of those people.

When I unboxed the Hauppauge HD PVR- Personal HDTV Recorder I made an unboxing video with my Sony Webbie HD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inpWpd2DBJ0

After I unboxed it, I began to set it up. The set up was not as hard as I thought it would be, although the first time I did mix up the cables by mistake. I swear some of the colors looked the same!? Or maybe I am going colorblind! However once I got the colors sorted out and plugged the cables in correctly it was easy goings from there.

I was worried the process would be hard and confusing but it was simple and before I knew it I had a copy of a movie on my harddrive in High Def with a picture quality that was flawless!

I then loaded the Titan TV guide and it was simple and straight forward, once you set up an account with Titan TV (great another p/w to remember). With Titan TV, you are able to view your cable provider’s program guide, record shows remotely via pc or mobile device from any location in the world.

With the Hauppauge HD PVR you can record HD TV to your PC in 1080i resolution using the Hauppauge H.264 hardware compression.

This product worked perfectly and truly I have no complaints. I could see this product useful for someone who doesn’t want to spend money on TiVo or Sat/Cable DVR service, it is also great for people like my husband who travel a lot and might have forgotten to record an upcoming reality show, with the Titan TV service he can, even when he isn’t at home.

Unfortunately though, with me working from home and having and DVR service included with my Cable Television service, I do not have use for it. HOWEVER, as I mention before, this product is perfect for someone who doesn’t have TiVo or DVR or a frequent traveler who needs more time to catch up their favorite shows!
