If “He’s Just Not that Into You”, TiVO can help

by on May 18th, 2011

I am a sucker for relationships and love, it is in the crab in me, so you could imagine the excitement when I received the opportunity to read about TiVO’s new campaign: TURN ON THE LOVE

The TiVO Premiere is the “world’s first Smart DVR” that can stream music, movies, shows and web videos, in addition to recording your favorite TV shows, and even suggesting what you should be recording based on what you have been already.

How can this heat up your love life?

Learning in the world of too much

by on November 17th, 2010

You’ve heard of the Baby Boomers, Generation X and now I want to bring up another Generation – the Generation of the Multitasker. This generation if made up of those that have too much to do, or have so many choices and options – that they don’t even know where to start. I think I am apart of this newly found generation and while the increase in options and career choices is all in part due to some of our founding mothers – Gloria Steinin, Luisa Capetillo, etc…they are overwhelming!

P.Diddy or Puffy or Puff Daddy (I can’t keep up with the times) once said Mo’Money, Mo’ Problems – but I think Mo’Learning leads to Mo’ Frustrations – I mean why do I have to be a visual learner? Why do I speak in analogies and seem to create relationships through stories? Or why are there so many ways to learn?

by on April 5th, 2010

The CheapChica’s Guide to Style is a site I visit on a periodic basis and the reason I do so is because it gives me the ‘umph’ I need when it comes to fashion.

I’m unique in the sense that I wear what I like, regardless of who is wearing it, what’s in, what’s not, etc…

There are times when I think to myself ‘damn, i dont watch tv, buy fashion mags, or follow the lives of stars – how the hell am i supposed to know how to look like a hot momma??’ – this is the answer…

HP Design Challenge on Project Runway!!!

by on March 26th, 2010

Project Runway – Lifetime’s hit TV show hosted by Heidi Klum – had a nice surprise tonight. Tonight contestants were challenged with creating fabrics using HP’s TouchSmart PC. The challenge was a first of its kind and was complemented with the divine presence of the oh-so-beautiful Vivienne Tam – who works closely with HP and their beautifully designed minis (I want oneeeeeeeee). She also uses HP’s TouchSmart PC when designing her own fashion line.

Having used HP’s TouchSmart last summer, I can say that it definitely allows you to ‘do’ more in every single sense imaginable. You can squeeze, slide, pinch, fling – pretty much anything and everything. Imagine how much you could do if you tried creating your own clothes?? The patterns designed by the contestants were the basis behind their looks tonight.

Coming Soon: Brilliant Women in Technology

by on October 21st, 2009

women-150x150Back in January when Mike and I were brainstorming about what this site should entail, we both agreed that it would be beneficial to showcase some of the brilliant women in technology. By showcasing extraordinary women in technology, who are making strides for all of us, we’d be highlighting non-traditional careers women can pursue, while at the same time motivating more females to pursue degrees/careers in technology.

The role of women can be debated upon for hours, maybe even weeks without end, across the whole wide world, using all forms of technology but something that we’re seeing, despite cultural differences is that this once called ‘role’ of women is being redefined.

Girl Geek Dinners

by on June 6th, 2009

I signed up for a Girl Geek Dinner in March, in NYC and due to weather delays was not able to partake in it. I was bummed. A Google exec facilitated the dinner and everyone got a cute Google mug (who doesn’t love a mug??).
