CuteGeek Parties with SONY at the MLB Fan Cave

by on July 27th, 2011

Sony rocks Major League Baseball and the NYC Tech Community with its 2011 holidays product line up at the MLB fan cave last night. I thought I was in for a total jock night when I looked up the venue, the official cave of two full-time professional baseball viewers with thirteen flat screens and a fully stocked bar ten paces from the sofa, but no…there was something for everyone. I got my ‘girlie’ on with a sweet henna tattoo on the back of y left hand and running up my wrist compliments of SONY and Henna Studio.

Highlights of the night for me were the SONY VAIO Series Laptops, especially the Z series, the Bloggie Touch 3D HD Video Camera (oh how I want one…please Santa) and a wide array of over-the-ear headphones, some of which might actually work for Maya.

Tim Harris of SONY walked me through the repertoire of headphones and settle on recommending the PIIQ Impact Resistant on-ear headphones in teal and pink…cutegeek colors!

We got to check out music unlimited streaming with Qriocity, a subscription service that is giving away free 30 day trials right now. The DJ was sweet, the photos opps got sillier by the minute with face mustaches and twitter-happy people all over the place. The sliders were so yummy, and fans were so hungry we almost bit the servers. The top of my evening was was watching Mike get his annihilated at air hockey, first by Sony’s Ana Reyes and then again by me! Oh yeah!

Thanks SONY for the sweet gift bags…no one has ever given me a copy of the Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Video, much less in 3D Blu-ray ;o)

I got a PSP; Now I Can Play Rock Band Anywhere I go!

by on August 3rd, 2009

rockband game and pspI finally got a PSP (our friend gave us one) and Rockband Unplugged for it courtesy of the friendly folks at Harmonix and MTV. After E3 playing Rockband Unplugged on PSP I realized it was a must have for me!  For several reasons, first I hate flying with a passion and I believe this is a great distraction for anyone like me or those who travel allot and are bored on a plane.

I am the type that needs to have a few glasses of wine and take 2 Dramamine just to get through security, board the plane and prepare for take off.  Once my husband put me on the smallest plane (2 propeller plane) known to man in a thunderstorm from Seattle to Utah…I was convinced he was trying to kill me by a plane crash (not to mention ironically my life insurance was up’d).  Something to be said when even the flight attendants were white as a ghost and no drink service. ”CRAP,” I thought…I don’t even get a glass of wine before I die!

Help! Nina is in search of a new PC!

by on April 8th, 2009

It all started at CES this year. There I am in front of the hotel after 3 days of CES boondoggles and I had this jerk of a bell hop making me wait an hour for a car that I clearly could see was not being used.

So after being told I should just walk my tootsies down the 3 mile strip; I blew up on him.

Unbelievable! I mean I was in 4 inch heals and seriously what happened to the customer is always right?! So after an hour of waiting plus a theatrical display of dissatisfaction…I threw my tote down. Accident #1!

Sony’s Got Style With The Webbie HD

by on March 11th, 2009

I have to admit I have never been into a Sony store! I may be a geek but I am from Texas, land of massive department stores, so now being in San Francisco I have many other options.  So I had the Sony Style Experience at the Metreon in downtown San Francisco.

I was greeted right away by a lovely sales representative named Rachel who had on some cute shoe’s (more proof geeks can be super cute)!  After telling her that I was interested in a small video camera, she quickly directed me to the Webbie display, and instantly I was mesmerized.  For such a small camera and low price point ($199), it was AWESOME!  Plus I got the eggplant color and you have to love the BOLD color personalization.  As of now the Webbie comes in 3 colors, eggplant, orange and silver.  In spring 2009 they will have a new Webbie that is vertical and features a swiveling lens that can swivel up to 270 degrees.
