Intel’s Museum of Me…

by on June 3rd, 2011

If someone were to ask you how you visualized yourself – what would you say? Who would pop into your head? Which memories?
Michael (HardwareGeeks.com) sent me an email earlier this week with a link to Intel’s Museum of Me, and I tried logging into my Facebook account to see what it would do, and it did nothing…so I forgot about it and went on my merry way. This morning, a friend of mine posted a link to her museum and I thought, crap, it didn’t work for me.
I gave it another shot and then smiled for about 3 minutes – the length of the ‘exhibit’. Intel has strategically figured out how to allow the world to visualize themselves, according to their social network, words they choose, and pictures they post. It was great.

My personal ‘geek’ pic

by on May 25th, 2011

I have been wearing black plastic framed glasses for about 10 years now, before they were cool to the world and Jay Z started sporting them and ever since about the age of 16, I have always been told ‘You look like a teacher’, ‘You look like a librarian’, ‘You look smart’, etc…so thank you glasses…you give me that extra ‘umph I need when I want to feel geeky…So here is me giving the world, the teacher they all envisioned – Halloween…

MTV Games and Harmonix Unveil Next 15 Songs Featured In The Beatles™: Rock Band™

by on July 22nd, 2009

Yippee skippy!  I cannot wait till September to get the Beatles Rockband!!!  Always been a huge fan even though I am an 80′s baby, my parents played music from the 50′s and on since I was a child!  Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band is clearly one of my favorite Beatles albums (it helped my parents had the CD)! I recall I use to listen to that CD nightly in high school (unlike everyone else in HS listening to pop rock, no offense I am just an old schooler)!  Till this day I swear I sometimes I start my morning with…

“Woke up, fell out of bed, Dragged a comb across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, And looking up I noticed I was late. Found my coat and grabbed my hat. Made the bus in seconds flat.” (Beatles Song: A Day In The Life)…and yes I literally sing this with a lil’ dance! I should have a reality show since I am such a dork! I swear I have been meaning to do a youtube of this reenactment! BUT I am hoping one day this song will be available for Rockband!

So yesterday I got a list of more songs for Beatles RockbandContinue Reading…

by on June 23rd, 2009

earbudsI was so excited when I got my first new product after E3 and it was these SUPER cute ear buds and in ear headphones from Roxy/ JBL. First off I love bright colors, I am not sure if it is because I am in California or that I am blind and frankly colors stick out more…

Radiris and I  make amazing partners in crime; we both have different technology preferences! CUTEGEEKS UNITE (imagine Radiris and I running to each other in slow motion [because everything is better in slow motion]and high fiving like big geeks)! In honor of Women’s History Month

by on March 12th, 2009

We’re almost half way into the month and I have to apologize for not ranting earlier about it being Women’s Month! We purposely launched the site this month because of it.

As a chick that usually oozes her feminist ideals, I think we deserve a lil’ more than a month to show our appreciation to all the women who have made ours lives a tad bit easier. I can vote, work the same jobs as men and I don’t have to hide the fact that I’m a women – that’s amazing. I can wear pants and not be arrested, unlike Luisa Capetillo*. This wasn’t always the case though – we need to remember that. We’ve come a long way but there is still so much to do.

Being a Geek is now the “in” thing – Hip Hip Hooray!!!

by on March 4th, 2009

Since the beginning of time, or high school (same thing right…) I always told people I was a nerd. It wasn’t cool back then so I was taking a big risk, but I didn’t care, because I knew (yes, I’m admitting that I think I’m cute) that I could push those limits. I often received the ‘you don’t look like a nerd’ comment – and then I would ask, ‘well what does a nerd look like?’ – no answer…There weren’t nerdy trends back then, at least any people would actually want to follow.

RadirisWhen people thought of nerds they thought of Revenge of the Nerds – huge plastic framed glasses, huge bookbags, wimps, nose picking (hence the pic on the side…haha), etc. I had no other way of telling people that I was a really intelligent female, and that I loved school, loved to read, and was a sponge when it came to learning. What I did decide to do, which has now sort of become my trademark, is wear the huge plastic framed glasses…I always thought they looked nerdy and that’s what intrigued me to always, and continually buy them…I’ll show you pics another time of the many glasses I’ve had…

(I do career days at inner city schools and you have to see the look on the children’s faces when I tell them I’m a nerd…they’re like na…and then by the end of my lil’ speech, I tell the class and all of the nerds to be confident – to say that they’re nerds loud and proud. I asked one class to look around at the nerds in the class, and at first it was like ‘huh – why’ and then I said because you’ll most likely be working for them in the future. Its oh so true, sometimes we need a rude awakening, even at an early age – its okay to be smart damnit!)

What women want…

by on March 1st, 2009

googleguyOften times, the one thing a woman really wants is for someone to understand her, even when she doesn’t.

She wants to be understood, even when the words don’t come out as right as she may want, and even when she says the wrong things.

She doesn’t want to get lost while on vacation, or when venturing off to a new part of town. She wants the reassurance that she’ll get there, no questions asked.

She doesn’t want to dread certain holidays in fear of her better half forgetting them; they should always be remembered without any reminders. And they should be cute with nice decorations (when possible).

When shopping, women want options – options, options, options…and sales of course. They want to say “I want ‘blah’” and their significant other should respond by saying, “Well honey, there’s this ‘blah’ for $15, this ‘blah’ for $25, etc…” Or, it can be given to her in a list.

She wants all of this and more.

She wants to be able to communicate with her partner about current events. She wants them to be up to date with everything. Bad news, good news, gossips…she wants it all (duh!). She wants different ways of communicating, and all of them should be good. Online, phone, text, etc…the list goes on.

That’s why, I, Radiris Diaz, believe that if Google were a man, he’d be my ideal match and I’d marry him (on the spot).
