In September I finally launched my own site called Hi-tech Chic (pronounced sheek) which will be reviews of fashion and tech instead of just tech.
Since then many of my Cutegeek and SF Examiner fans have been asking if I’m leaving either site and the answer is NO! I will remain to write for Cutegeek till I’m no longer cute…which may be sooner than later since I’m in my 30’s.
My promise to you all is to continue to write and review technology for all three sites with the same integrity since I started writing over 6 years ago. My content will continue to be unique and newsworthy for each site but now with Hi-tech Chic the element of fashion will be included with tech.
In conclusion and to put the emails, DMs, and texts at rest I’m still writing for Cutegeek and Examiner just adding another site to my repertoire.

Once again, HP and Project Runway have teamed together further uniting fashion design and technology. While watching the season premier of Project Runway last night you probably noticed each designer was given a HP EliteBook Tablet PC notebook , loaded with a second-generation Intel® Core i7™ processor, to create this seasons winning looks. HP will be assisting the designers throughout season 9 by also providing products such as HP TouchSmart desktop PCs, HP video cameras and the HP Veer. A $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel will also be part of the winner’s prize package.
As a graphic and web designer I am excited to see all the ways the contestants will be able to utilize these products from HP to be able to do everything from creating designs for challenges to keeping in touch with their families throughout the competition. Many of the contestants already raved about their love of the EliteBook and how it can cut development time in half because of its ease of use.
Fans can even enter the On the Runway Sketching Challenge, a drawing contest, which the HP and Intel Brand Boutique will announce at www.mylifetime.com/hp.
Be sure to catch the next episode of Project Runway Thursday at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime Television.

I am probably one of the few girls that can proudly admit that I have NO fashion sense. I go for comfortable (obvious reasons), black (classy, sophisticated – never goes out of style and is flattering) and inexpensive items – that’s usually what I shop for. The end…oh wait, then there’s heels. I love them and they can be anything – stilettos, platforms, etc… but only because I love to tower over the men around me –its a power trip (you get more money for the same role – so yea, you should look up to me, its only fair).
Anyway – while I don’t often buy ‘style’ magazines because I rather look at ‘myself’ in Latina magazine, or read Oprah’s wonderful uplifting magazine of greatness and motivating stories – I did buy InStyle and oh my God – I am soooo thankful! Here are a bunch of coupons that InStyle.com included – since it’s the season to start (or continue) spending, I figured I’d help you all out a bit and share…enjoy!

Ever thought of designing your own eye wear? Ever since Nike started allowing you to customize their sneakers, I always think of how i could add my own ‘umph’ to something. I wear glasses and some may say I look geeky or like a nerd, like it’s a bad thing. I personally feel it adds a level of sophistication to how I look. I also say they make me look smart, but ultimately, I fell in love with black plastic framed glasses long before before Kenneth Cole made them sophisticated, and way before Jay Z made them cool to wear.
Due to the fact that a pair of eyeglasses can make you or break you, I’ve never purchased a pair online. I go down the traditional route – where I go to a store, start pointing like an air traffic controller, and try them on, as I tilt my head in a thousand ways and pick up my hair to see how it would look with all my styles. This is the most important part to buying a pair of new ones if you asked me – it’s all about the look, and how comfortable you feel in them.

The CheapChica’s Guide to Style is a site I visit on a periodic basis and the reason I do so is because it gives me the ‘umph’ I need when it comes to fashion.
I’m unique in the sense that I wear what I like, regardless of who is wearing it, what’s in, what’s not, etc…
There are times when I think to myself ‘damn, i dont watch tv, buy fashion mags, or follow the lives of stars – how the hell am i supposed to know how to look like a hot momma??’ – this is the answer…

Project Runway – Lifetime’s hit TV show hosted by Heidi Klum – had a nice surprise tonight. Tonight contestants were challenged with creating fabrics using HP’s TouchSmart PC. The challenge was a first of its kind and was complemented with the divine presence of the oh-so-beautiful Vivienne Tam – who works closely with HP and their beautifully designed minis (I want oneeeeeeeee). She also uses HP’s TouchSmart PC when designing her own fashion line.
Having used HP’s TouchSmart last summer, I can say that it definitely allows you to ‘do’ more in every single sense imaginable. You can squeeze, slide, pinch, fling – pretty much anything and everything. Imagine how much you could do if you tried creating your own clothes?? The patterns designed by the contestants were the basis behind their looks tonight.

I admit, I heard about this site before from the amazing blogger of NOTCOT, but I was shocked when a lot of my friends had no idea what it was.
If you’re a budget conscious fashionista – here is how to get your fix of some of the latest and hottest couture dresses for a fraction of the cost.
