Own a Blackberry Free Apps Coming your Way

blackberry_logo[1]Due to that huge service outage last week, Research in Motion (RIM) has said it will give blackberry users free premium apps valued up to $100. The Free premium apps will be available starting October 19th and will remain free for 4 weeks. RIM has also said enterprise customers will get one free month of Technical Support.

Tens of millions of Blackberry customers world wide were left with out email for up to a day,

So if you have a Blackberry check the App World starting Wednesday for those free Premium Apps!

RIM Announces “BBM Generation” Program for Youth

bbmgenerationToday Research in Motion the makers of the Blackberry has launched a new program for youth called “BBM Generation”.

BBM Generation is an online hub that will offer our youth access to contest and promotions designed for them and help promote collaboration and achievement among themselves. The first contest will revolve around fashion, music, film, sports, pop culture and entrepreneurship.

The contest will be judged by the BBM Challenge Council which include Whitney Port, Greyson Chance, Michelle Trachtenberg, Hope Solo, Jared Eng, and Lauren Berger.

I Love the Blackberry Playbook

This past Thursday, I and fellow Hardwaregeeker, Michael Reyes, was invited to the Blackberry Playbook Launch Party….
RIM…. THANK YOU for an amazing event

So, I just finished playing with the New Blackberry Playbook for the past 3 hours. I wish I had another one to make a video of it. I will get around to posting one up in the next couple of days (need to get Fancy for the camera).

So in the mean time I will make this short and straight to the point….

First thing I have to say is…. HELLO FLASH WEBSITES!!

The Playbook supports Adobe Flash and the loading speed in awesome!!! just as good as my laptop (using my home network). Continue Reading…

Back to school review: chicboom Keychain Speaker by chicBuds

Since it’s back to school time it got me thinking how different things were back in my day. This may date me but when I was in high school we didn’t have MP3 players or cell phones…just beepers and the discman/ walkman. If you wanted your friend to listen to your mix tape (yeah I said it) or CD at school you had this awkward moment of ear cooties with your friend…and forget about portable speakers because back then I wouldn’t say they were exactly that portable (at least the affordable ones). Who wants to put that in your backpack on top of all the books we had to carry (b/c we didn’t have kindle back in 98′)?

Leap forward to 2010…I was sitting in my condo and I got a package from chicBuds which is a company that specializes in fashion forward electronics. The first little thing that stood out was the chicboom Keychain Speaker and immediately thought teenagers + back to school = genius ( AND why didn’t we have this when I was in HS school?!). In a world consumed of portable devices this seems like it would be ideal for any girl and it’s a key chain…how convenient and cool is that?!  Continue Reading…
