Jane’s Addictions Comes Alive with AT&T and the LG Thrill 4G in 3D

by on August 1st, 2011

What a night to be a VIP! Last week, AT&T rolled out the red carpet treatment for us at the LG Thrill 4G Smart Phone launch event which featured a live Jane’s Addiction concert…but the experience is so much more than just a concert. Our hosts hooked us and about 100 other people up with the new LG 3D phone with stereoscopic technology to shoot concert footage in 3D while enjoying the concert. All of that footage will be compile to create the first-ever user generated concert video – a multi-user, multiple-dimensional music video experience / documentary which will air on August 4th on youtube.com/comealive.

Check out the jam and experience the music, the lights and the vibe just as we did that night. Impatient? Then go check out the LG Thrill 4G 3D at your local AT&T store.

Texting doesn’t Kill, People who Text While Driving Do….

by on July 3rd, 2011

No preaching intended, these are the facts: If you are driving while sending texts, you are 23 times more likely to be involved in a car accident. Car and Driver conducted a study in 2009 that indicates that texting while driving is significantly more dangerous than driving while intoxicated and we all accept that drinking and driving don’t mix; now we have to open our eyes to the dangers of texting-on-the-road….and do something about it…and AT&T is…

AT&T is committed to safe driving and is delivering this message loud and clear to teens through its Txting & Driving…It Can Wait campaign aimed at educating teen drivers on the dangers of driving and texting. The campaign funds short 10 minute education and awareness films such as The Last Text, four stories of texting, driving, tragedy and needless loss. Continue Reading…

AT&T Is Giving Me FREE Mobile-to-Mobile Minutes…Want Some?

by on May 30th, 2011

AT&T recently launched a nice enhancement to their individual and FamilyTalk Calling Plans for people with Unlimited Text Messaging. If you have or want to sign-up for unlimited text messaging, you now get unlimited calling to any (yes, ANY) mobile number on any network in the US (and Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands) at no extra charge. Yes, free mobile-to-mobile calling, regardless of the network your friends and family are on!

If you are like me, always on-the-go chatting with friends and colleagues who are also on-the-go, then free mobile-to-mobile calling offers huge savings on monthly minute consumption. Only catch…you have to ask for it, so call up AT&T or stop in a store and they can upgrade your account in seconds…and so you can start banking your mobile-to-mobile minutes into your rollover minutes.

Tempted BUT….Is the new Samsung Infuse worth jilting my current smart phone?

by on May 25th, 2011

On Cinco de Mayo, I attended a Samsung/AT&T Event to launch the new Samsung Infuse with my colleague Mike Reyes of HardwareGeeks.com. It was all about fajita’s as-you-like-them, best Guacamole on the upper west side,  soft-pink margaritas with a kick AND the chance to touch and play with the new Samsung Infuse, the latest in Androids running on 4G….and they sent me home with one!

So why did I wait so long to tell you all about it? Well, I wasn’t sure how I felt about my new Android. I felt like I was cheating…on my iPhone 3GS. I needed time to get over the awe of the wow-me-better-than-my-tablet video graphics, the subtle thrill of the keyboard touchsense and convince myself that it was truly love; that Andy and I (Yes, it is nickname worthy!) could have a productive, fulfilling and fun relationship and that I, a committed iPhone user, could get with an Android and be as content with my ‘smart’ experience.

Changing The Way We Shop: Mobile Phone Based Payment System

by on November 16th, 2010

What is Isis?  It’s what Discover, Barclaycard, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon are calling their mobile phone-based payment system.  If you’re sick of lugging around credit and debit cards, cash, coupons, tickets, reward cards and all the like, then keep on reading!

Isis will use near-field technology communication (NTC) and cell phones to revolutionize the payment process.  Remember those Speedway wands that you could wave in front of the Speedway horse at the pump?  Then when it lit up (because it was linked to your credit card), it meant you could pump your gas?  Well, that’s what it is, except in this case it’s your cellphone and not a wand, and it could hold (what sounds like) all of your information for every single account you have.

My initial concern would be, what if I loose my cellphone?  What if my “cousin” wanted to use my new “wallet”?  As with every new system, I’m sure that it will be encrypted with high security to protect our precious information.

I think this will catch on quickly, but I’m a little hesitant.  How likely are you to transition?  Personally, I think I would initially start with reward accounts only.  Then begin including credit cards slowly from there…or maybe I’m paranoid.

Thank you AT&T and Drake

by on November 11th, 2010

Would like to send a special CuteGeek Thank You to At&t for helping me celebrate my sister’s birthday. They invited myself and Michael from HardwareGeeks.com and guests to Phildelphia to watch Drake perform in an intimate venue. I’ve been to several concerts over time and feel its necessary to say that he was the most in sync with his band.
Thank you again from a cutegeeker and a fellow At&t customer. (I love my rollover minutes!!)

Pantech Breeze II for at&t Review

by on May 22nd, 2010

Last week, I received the Pantech Breeze II. At first, I thought this phone was more like a joke. A high school senior with this phone? Yeah, I didn’t see that happening. But to my surprise I actually grew fond of the Breeze II and all the features on it.

The Pantech Breeze II has a display of three icons right on the front cover; they light up when you either have a message, phone call, or you’re battery is being charged (it changes from red to green. Green is fully charged). I thought this feature was one of the best because you can just look down to see what messages you have or if your battery is about to die without even opening the phone.

Just got the Pantech Breeze II

by on May 13th, 2010

Walking up to my door after school today, I was happily greeted by a box that contained the brand new Pantech Breeze II for AT&T Wireless. At first glance, the Pantech Breeze II didn’t excite me as it normally wouldn’t be a phone that I would buy for myself. But because this just so happens to be the first phone I have received for review I’m very EXCITED to use the phone and bring you a great review!

So far, if I had to recommend this phone to anyone, it would have to be my grandparents as the phone has big buttons and items on the screen appear big, so it’s great for someone who is visually impaired or a younger cousin who is just getting their first phone.

I should have all the goods on the Pantech Breeze II in a week! So definitely check back soon!

Review: Pantech Impact

by on February 11th, 2010

Pantech Impact FrontDid you see the Best Buy TV ads during the Christmas holiday with the Christmas carolers suggesting the guy buy his girlfriend a cell phone as a holiday gift? When my boyfriend saw that commercial he said “Why would you buy your girlfriend a cell phone for Christmas?” I had to disagree. I would totally appreciate a brand new cell phone that’s cute and filled with nice features, like the Pantech Impact.

The Impact is part of AT&T’s line of quick messaging phones. The phone I reviewed was a pretty soft pink, but it’s also available in blue. It flips open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard with a 2.6” color screen. The front has a touch-screen with a numeric keypad with a small black and white screen. The phone is also fairly light and small, weighing in at 4.5 ounces and measuring 4.19″ x 2.04″ x 0.7″.

Update on the “iPhone killer”

by on June 22nd, 2009

Isn’t that harsh? Now that I think about it, I almost feel bad. Can’t we all just get along? Can this world be filled with iPhones and Pres?

I hope – because it doesn’t look like Sprinters are running to get the new iPhone, and vice versa.

Palm’s Pre is amazing but contrary to common belief, you don’t need to be a Palm OS user to get it. Actually, ANYONE can use it because its operating system is completely new. It’s a hybrid of a Mac, Windows and Palm – the best of all worlds.
