Boxee Brings Family Together to Share Media Experiences
by Wendy Wick on June 25th, 2011
Just days after a chic evening at gdgt in NYC, there is a Boxee at my door and I am all too thrilled to invite him in. He is small, sleek and edgy with his square lime-green monkey-face and he is a media magician, bringing all that I love about my smart devices and social-networking onto my TV. With the wave of my wand; the boxee remote or my iPhone with a free Boxee Remote App from iTunes, I am off to ride a media wave of my own design. Continue Reading…

What do you Call a Scared Tyrannosaurus?
by Wendy Wick on June 14th, 2011
A Nervous Rex!!!! I resemble that remark….ok, seriously, I digress….
If your kids love dinosaurs and you all like to laugh, then Maya and I have an app for you…Silly Dinosaur Riddles! Beloved children’s science author Seymour Simon (author of the app Science Fun to Go) and his longtime collaborator, the hilarious illustrator Dennis Kendrick, have created an ebook of dinosaur riddles that is bound to get giggles from your youngsters!
Why did the T-Rex cross the road? And, what should you do if you find a blue Triceratops? Are just a few of the clever riddles you and your kids will giggle about. The app has a “Read To Me” option for the emerging reader and a “Let Me Read” option for young readers. Silly Dino has very engaging audio recorded by Grammy award winner John Marshall Media studio, which invites you to laugh along at dino-humor while reinforcing knowledge of dinosaur names…and let’s face it…it is cool for a kid to know the difference between an velociraptor and a brontosaurus. Silly Dinosaur Riddles is available for the iPhone, iPad, iTouch, or Android phones. Continue Reading…
Sprint and Motorola Announce the Photon 4G…Take a Sneak-Peek…
by Wendy Wick on June 9th, 2011
Motorola’s Sanjay Jha and Sprint’s Dan Hesse got together with NYC techies to unveil the Photon 4G, one of several Motorola Android phones coming to Sprint. The Photon 4G is as fast as ‘smart’ gets at the moment with a dual core processor and 4G speeds, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB for storage. The Photon is sleekly designed with rounded corners, a textured back for comfortable hand grip, a phenomenal display resolution and a kickstand around back so it stands on it’s own. It has everything you’d expect: Gingerbread, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 8 megapixel HD video front-facing camera and a few things that you wouldn’t expect but will be thrilled with like International GSM capabilities and 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability for up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices. The talk was heavy on specs but sparse on availability and pricing so the best I can tell you is to watch for it this summer…and it is worth watching for….
While you wait, check out this video of the Photon in action…
Give a girl a rainbow…
by Wendy Wick on May 16th, 2011
You know I love my gadgets and the time they save me but I also love the do-dad’s that bring pleasure and joy into my free-time and that remind me to just simply stop…breathe…smile and to appreciate the magnificence of being me, being mom, and BEING in the moment!
The Kikkerland Solar-Powered Double Rainbow Maker is a great-for-the-whole-family gadget that makes any on-the-go multi-tasker stand still and gape in wonder…BE in the moment…and challenges even the most inattentive grump to not exhale in wonder. It is a window hanging with two Swarovski crystals and a small solar panel that, when hit directly with sunlight, will rotates the crystals to create a world of rainbows gliding along the walls of your room…like magic. Mine has been hanging in my living room for over 18-months and it never fails to amaze me, my kids and guests when it is suddenly triggered by a ray of sunlight at an unexpected moment.

2011 Lincoln MKX
by Zenia Duran on January 18th, 2011
Ford Motor Company loaned Michael Reyes of HardwareGeeks.com the 2011 Lincoln MKX for a week, fully loaded I might add. While he wouldn’t remove himself from the drivers seat so I could drive, he did show me all the features the car had to offer.
Check out the video we made below.
I really enjoyed the car even though I wasn’t allowed to drive it. Michael did tell me it handled well. I may just head to the Ford dealership and get a test drive of my own.
