Roxio Creator 2011, or, make your pictures and videos 3D!

by Maya Grinberg on August 24th, 2010

My Roxio 3D glasses.

Roxio, the software company behind a variety of disc burning software (VHS to DVD, CDs, and probably the default program on your new Windows machine for burning media) just released a new media creation and editing software called Creator 2011. Creator does all the things a traditional media editor should, like editing and burning videos to disc, creating copies of CDs and DVDs, and what have you. One thing that’s very new, however, and worthy of a whole writeup of its own, is the new 3D capabilities of the program.

Brilliant Women in Technology: Meet Hannah Simone

by Shoshana Diggs on August 18th, 2010

I personally didn’t get to speak with or interview Hannah Simone as I was unable to attend the event (E3) where our CuteGeek representative met her. Which sort of sucks because after reading her answers and reading up on her she’s an amazing person. Would have been nice to have met her. But I got the second best thing, I got the task of writing up why she’s a Brilliant Women in Tech.

Hannah Simone was born in London England and as lived all over the world. From Saudi Arabia to New Delhi India where she attended school and would help organize to benefits to help women and children with Aids. In 2006 she landed in Canada where she became a VJ for MuchMusic and in 2009 she became the host of WCG Utimate Gamer, whose second season starts August 19th 2010 on the SyFy Channel. Check local listings. I always wanted to say that…I guess I still haven’t said it and I just typed it.

Moisturize Your Skin While You Drive

by Shoshana Diggs on August 5th, 2010

Nissan Motor Company made a rather interesting annoucement today. They announced a concept called ”Health and well-being” and the concept will allow your car that to moisturize your skin while you drive.

Basically the cars will dispense vitamin C from the air conditioner, and as we know vitamin C is good for your skin and even clears up acne.

Nissan did not say what models or in what countries the vitamin dispensing car will be available in, but I am sure it will be a girls best friend where ever its available.

Design Your Own Eyewear

by Radiris Diaz on July 29th, 2010

Ever thought of designing your own eye wear? Ever since Nike started allowing you to customize their sneakers, I always think of how i could add my own ‘umph’ to something. I wear glasses and some may say I look geeky or like a nerd, like it’s a bad thing. I personally feel it adds a level of sophistication to how I look. I also say they make me look smart, but ultimately, I fell in love with black plastic framed glasses long before before Kenneth Cole made them sophisticated, and way before Jay Z made them cool to wear.

Due to the fact that a pair of eyeglasses can make you or break you, I’ve never purchased a pair online. I go down the traditional route – where I go to a store, start pointing like an air traffic controller, and try them on, as I tilt my head in a thousand ways and pick up my hair to see how it would look with all my styles. This is the most important part to buying a pair of new ones if you asked me – it’s all about the look, and how comfortable you feel in them.

HP AIO 200 PC

by Ashley Giordano on June 20th, 2010

hp-all-in-one-200-desktop-pc1 A little over two weeks ago HP sent me an AIO 200 PC to check out and when I got it I was super excited! I would of posted about getting it sooner but I was busy with finals. But schools over and now I have more time to play. So this post is just to let you know I received it and will have a review on it soon.

The AIO stands for All-in-One, which means the computer and monitor are combined and what’s even cooler is that its thin and doesn’t take up a lot of room. It fits perfectly in any corner. The keyboard and mouse are also wireless so you can put them away in a drawer if you aren’t using them. I am sorta using the AIO 200 as a PC/TV and watch movies on it using NetFlix and the HP MediaSmart software.
