Logitech Transforms Presentations With Spotlight: Highlight, Magnify and More

TEDs New Preferred Remote, Spotlight Can Help You Become a More Confident Presenter

LAUSANNE, Switzerland and NEWARK, Calif. Feb. 1, 2017 Today Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) announced a complete reinvention of presentation control with the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote. Unlike the traditional slide clicker or laser pointer of the past, Spotlight is designed to help you become a more confident presenter. Spotlight is an advanced tool that goes well beyond laser pointing, and enables you to highlight and magnify on-screen content in an engaging and powerful way so you can better underscore your point.

Tweet now: Play it. Show it. Time it. Crush it. @Logitech introduces Spotlight Presentation Remote for confident presenting. Learn More: http://blog.logitech.com/?p=25520

Presentations are nerve-wracking, said Marcel Stolk, senior vice president of the Creativity and Productivity business group at Logitech. For most, the main stumbling block is a lack of confidence we just get nervous. Spotlight is easier to use and, most importantly, gives you new ways to engage your audience versus a hard-to-see laser pointer.

Spotlight is a new standard in presentation control. It allows you to effortlessly navigate slides and interact with on-screen content from up to 100 feet away. With the advanced pointer system you can highlight and magnify points on your slide in pixel-perfect detail, so the audience stays engaged throughout your talk. Spotlight also has mouse-like cursor control to play videos and open links, and unlike a laser, the cursor and highlights are visible to both a live audience and those on a video conference.

Spotlight pairs with a powerful app so you can set the stage even before your presentation begins. In the app you can toggle pointer mode, set timed vibration alerts or activate more advanced functions like volume control with hand gestures. Whats more, the app will be updated with additional features over time, so youll always have access to the latest in presentation functionality with Spotlight.

We know how important reliable technology is for helping speakers feel confident on stage, said Lisa Choi Owens, head of global partnerships at TED. Using technologies like Logitech Spotlight allows our speakers to focus on their talks, and deliver ideas worth spreading.

Logitech Spotlight also connects instantly via USB receiver or Bluetooth Smart technology. It is plug-and-play on most devices and compatible with all popular presentation apps. Plus, it features smart recharging one minute of charge gives three hours of use so you will never be caught off guard.

Logitech and TED plan to launch a worldwide search for aspiring communicators who will be invited to participate in an exclusive Spotlight Presentation Academy at the TED Theater in New York. Armed with a Spotlight presentation remote, attendees will have the opportunity to work with industry experts to enhance their presentation skills. Through this program, the two companies aim to inspire and support communities of presenters and idea-sharers worldwide. More details regarding the search will be announced in the coming weeks.

Availability

Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote is available today from Logitech and Apple for a suggested retail price of $129.99, and will be available from additional retailers worldwide in March. More Robots Making a Cameo at CES 2017

by on December 19th, 2016

ces-logo-2016I’m seriously starting to think that robots really are taking over the planet! For the past couple months I’ve been posting articles on robots that will be launching or that have demos during CES and the list continues to expand. I’ve already introducted you all to Tipron, the Hease and the Robot helper at SJC but I’m learning lately that there are many more robots that will be at CES 2017. Below are a few robots I just learned about that will be at CES. I have a feeling this list will continue to grow as CES 2017 gets closer so check back on Cutegeek or Hi-Tech Chic every now and then before CES for updates.

Olly – The First Robot with Personalityolly

Olly is a brain-inspired AI engine and uses deep learning to provide accurate speech and emotion interaction. Moreover Olly is the first smart lifestyle assistant that actually develops a personality based on its owner’s moods and preferences, making daily communications with Olly unique and enjoyable. I am very interested to see how much personality a robot can have when I am at CES, should be a cool demo! Continue Reading…

by on December 12th, 2016

prevent-mouth-guardPrevent Biometrics® is releasing and showcasing their new Head Impact Monitor at CES 2017. The Head Impact Monitor is embedded in the mouthguard that is paired with a mobile app to accurately detect potential concussion-causing impacts and provides real-time alerts. lacrosse

I am very excited to check this out at CES though odd I’m excited about a mouthguard. I played women’s lacrosse at Texas State University and I have definitely taken it for the team a couple times on the field. If you have ever been hit in the face with a lacrosse ball or got hit on your head in full swing with a lacrosse stick you would understand why I’m excited. That happened to me while on the field and not just once or twice but almost every other game. One time I got hit so hard by someone’s stick it knocked me out. The Head Impact Monitor by Prevent Biometrics® would have been handy way back then.

Below is the official press release with more information and product specifications. If you are attending CES I would definitely check out their booth and maybe you will run into me as well at CES! Continue Reading…

Fantastic Last Minute Black Friday, Cyber Weekend and Cyber Monday Deals

by on November 25th, 2016

Today is one of the most epic shopping days of the year. I was even bold enough to go to Best Buy in hopes of getting the new Mini Nintendo Classic Edition late last night. Not only were there lines that seemed to run as long as the great wall of China they did not have the new Mini Nintendo Classic Edition yet. The word on the streets is that most retailers do not have Mini Nintendo Classic Edition in stock. I left defeated but that doesn’t mean you will have the same luck especially with some of these apps and deals for a successful Cyber Weekend.

The Flipp App makes shopping easy by providing the most weekly digital circulars and coupons from over 800 local retailers. The Flipp App also lets you create shopping lists as well as a clipping feature so you can save the coupons you want to use for your future shopping. You can find out more and how to get the Flipp App by clicking here.

Indiegogo Campaign: The Pup Connected Pocket Scanner

by on November 22nd, 2016

I forgot all about scanners since I work from home and don’t really have a need for it. Then again this would be ideal for those like me who travel and go to a lot of Tech Conferences. I seem to always loose the business cards while at conventions furthermore I do not want to come back from a trip to scan individual cards one by one.

Introducing Pup’s Pocket Connected Scanner

Pup Scan have been collaborating with a strong team of engineers and designers for 18 months. One perk about about the Pup Scan is that it gives users the ability to connected to your favorite clouds. It is tiny, lightweight, wireless, with a long-lasting battery. It automatically takes care of every step, from your sheet of paper to its destination on the internet.

I hope to get a a review unit for Cutegeek and Hi-Tech Chic before CES. Till then keep checking back from me for a full product review!
