If Wendy Can DJ, Anyone can DJ

by on July 8th, 2011

Wendy got an on-the-spot DJ-101 lesson at a Pioneer press event last month. With The Crystal Method mixing onstage amidst the funky retro-mixers-made-art show, Wendy was off to one side with her pioneer DJ Master, a DJM-900 Nexus 4-channel professional DH Mixer wired to a Macbook Pro with an unreal techno/house/hip-hop music library and a pair of noise canceling headphones. It was music bliss! After a 5 minute tour of the board with some hands-on how-to’s on scratching, mixing and adding effects, Wendy was syncing beats across 4 songs in her own little “I’m-a’DJ” world for the next 20 minutes. The Nexus has a multitude of color and sound effects, a new X-pad control that provides quick easy access to manipulate the parameters of each beat and supreme sound quality with a built-in 24bit/96kHz high performance sound card. It offers versatile connection options with Pro DJ Link and top panel USB connector. It was so easy to learn that urban-mommy was in her alter-ego chic-mix-master in minutes. Sweet innovation Pioneer!

Earth Day 2011

by on April 21st, 2011

Today is earth day and over the past day or so I have been able to play with two products from Belkin to help you save energy and be green, and also learned about a Wind Turbine that you can put together yourself in your own backyard.

The first of the two Belkin Products I was able to test out was the Belkin Conserve Socket. What is it? I wasn’t sure at first either when I heard the name, but its a socket with a timer. Basically it shuts power off to what ever device is plugged into it after 30, 180 or 360 minutes. Essentially it turns your wall socket into the perfect charging socket. Your cell phone, iPad or what ever mobile device you have can typically fully charge in less than 3 hours.

by on April 21st, 2011

Today Radiris Diaz and Michael from HardwareGeeks.com were at a Sprint event in New York city, and they were able to see and play with what I think is the coolest phones I have ever seen. Or is it a tablet? You be the judge.

The video below is of Michael demoing the phone, he doesn’t say much as there was a lot of background noise, but I think what he shows us is super cool!!!

by on April 6th, 2011

See Here Logo

FujiFilm today announced that next week they are re-launching their SeeHere.com website. SeeHere.com allows users of the site to upload their pictures and create anything from Calendars to Photo Books and Mugs.

I have tried out SeeHere.com and it was really easy to use. You select the item you want to make, in my case it was a photo book, you upload the pictures and you place them into the book the way you want. You can easily resize, tilt and move around the pictures on the pages. You can also have the pictures be placed automatically onto the product you are making.
