Everyday I wake up to emails of new products that will be on display or launched at CES.  I have not said I was excited about CES since my first CES with Cutegeek years ago if that gives you any indication of how epic CES 2017 is said to be.

A couple days ago I wrote about the Robot Helpers at San Jose Airport that was launched in time for the holiday season and now we have another new robot introducing itself to the public at CES 2017.hease-robot-final-rendering-front

by on November 27th, 2016

rosie-the-robotAnnounced just in time for the Holidays is the New Robot Helpers that will be at Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC). Meet Norma, Amelia, and Piper SJCRobots, the airport’s new customer service agents. Right off the bat, don’t they remind you of Rosie the maid robot in the Jetsons?

Norma, Amelia, and Piper are the first robots to be deployed at a U.S. airport, and are engaging and entertaining travelers while assisting them with locating dining, shopping, and other services. I know airport-robotwe are excelling fast in new technology globally but I’m not sure how people will react to the robots.  I would love to watch people that are approached by the robot and see their reaction.

The SJC Robot’s offers information on in-terminal dining, shopping, and other airport services on a 32-inch touch screen tablet operating on Microsoft Windows software.

The SJC Robots can speak English,  Chinese, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. They also can dance, play music and take photos of you then email them directly to you. It’s like free entertainment at the airport!

For more information about the SJC Robots click here and check out the below YouTube of one of the robot’s interviewing for the SJC job. Pretty Funny! Enjoy!

Fantastic Last Minute Black Friday, Cyber Weekend and Cyber Monday Deals

by on November 25th, 2016

Today is one of the most epic shopping days of the year. I was even bold enough to go to Best Buy in hopes of getting the new Mini Nintendo Classic Edition late last night. Not only were there lines that seemed to run as long as the great wall of China they did not have the new Mini Nintendo Classic Edition yet. The word on the streets is that most retailers do not have Mini Nintendo Classic Edition in stock. I left defeated but that doesn’t mean you will have the same luck especially with some of these apps and deals for a successful Cyber Weekend.

The Flipp App makes shopping easy by providing the most weekly digital circulars and coupons from over 800 local retailers. The Flipp App also lets you create shopping lists as well as a clipping feature so you can save the coupons you want to use for your future shopping. You can find out more and how to get the Flipp App by clicking here.

Indiegogo Campaign: The Pup Connected Pocket Scanner

by on November 22nd, 2016

I forgot all about scanners since I work from home and don’t really have a need for it. Then again this would be ideal for those like me who travel and go to a lot of Tech Conferences. I seem to always loose the business cards while at conventions furthermore I do not want to come back from a trip to scan individual cards one by one.

Introducing Pup’s Pocket Connected Scanner

Pup Scan have been collaborating with a strong team of engineers and designers for 18 months. One perk about about the Pup Scan is that it gives users the ability to connected to your favorite clouds. It is tiny, lightweight, wireless, with a long-lasting battery. It automatically takes care of every step, from your sheet of paper to its destination on the internet.

I hope to get a a review unit for Cutegeek and Hi-Tech Chic before CES. Till then keep checking back from me for a full product review!

Smartphone Cases And Accessories Galore

by on November 17th, 2016

Since the iPhone 7 and 7 plus came out there has been a multitude of new cases and wireless devices released on the market. Just imagine, when the new Motorola Moto, Google’s Pixel, modular smartphones and rumored release of the Samsung Galaxy 8 for 2017…there will be cases galore to choose from.

How does one decide?

I have learned after the many years I have written for tech everyone has their own opinion on what case either functionally or aesthetically. For instance my poor iPhones goes into battle every time it enters my purse or in general in my possession therefore to my cases need to be rugged and Nina certified.

My two life savers and rugged products to protect my electronic devices from having a tragic end of life has been Corning® Gorilla® Glass and BALLISTIC Jewel Series cases. The BALLISTIC cases corners and raised lips provide protection against scratches, corner drops and surface shock. It also protects your smart phone for a drop of up to 6 feet high.

Then you have my youngest brother who takes care of his electronics and has been testing out the Nomad’s iPhone Leather case. The Nomad’s iPhone Leather case is a beautiful case but in my hands it will be demolished in seconds. The only other flaw with the the Nomad’s iPhone Leather case is you cannot get it wet or rather avoid from doing so.

For my fashionista’s I recommend checking out the Liquid Glitter Voila iPhone 7 case.

Farewell to Cutegeek’s Mascot – Chloe the Wonder Dog

by on November 16th, 2016

Yesterday after months of ailments and complications with her heart murmur our beloved Chloe, Cutegeek’s Mascot from day one, passed away. She was 14 years old and she died in our arms in Austin, Texas. She was my best girl friend for 14 years!

Her kind heart and her bigger than life personality will forever be missed. I wanted to share these memories of product reviews, bloopers, and videos that Chloe had a cameo in for all our friends and family.

Chloe Participated in Many Product ReviewsIMG_2105

Time to pee Mom…

Mom pretty sure this is NOT for dogs…What am I? A Clown? Do I amuse you?!

I also wanted to share this rare recording from a year ago that I sang for my Tia, Mama Cass’s “Dream a Little Dream.” At the time it was just for my Tia but also so fitting for today.

We will always “Dream a Little Dream” of and for you Chloe.

New Spark Labs in Bryant Park Just Opened

by on November 10th, 2016

spark-signThe rate of start-ups and people who work from home increases annually as more new technology becomes available. Most start-ups I have consulted for and with my own business there are times when a conference room is needed. For small business owners, start-ups and those who work from home that is a bit of a challenge since they only need a conference room every now and then. Currently in Austin I have seen how quickly co-working communities and work spaces are needed given we are in a technology boom.

Today, Spark Labs announced the opening of a second location in the heart of NYC’s “Silicon Alley” and the backing of UMW Holdings, a Malaysian Corporation with a $3.5B revenue in 2015. For those who aren’t familiar with Spark Labs they are one of NY’s fastest growing co-working communities. Spark Labs brand new space, opened on November 1st, is 20,000-square-feet, comprising an entire floor at 25 W. 39 St. in Bryant Park.
