Pyle Audio® Smart Robot Vacuum with Built-in Camera

by on September 30th, 2016

pyleLast week Pyle Audio®  launched the Smart Robot Vacuum with Built-in Camera and capability to control it via smartphone. I have never owned a robot vacuum however my dog Chloe, while at a friends house had an altercation and I’m not sure she has been the same since.

In all honesty I never thought I would need a robot vacuum until I moved into an all wood floor condo. I have been toying with the idea to have a Smart Robot Vacuum and I came across the Pyle Audio® Smart Robot Vacuum with Built-in Camera. It features a detachable microfiber cleaner that recognizes changes in surfaces and adjusts directions, considering I have a dog who may have accidents now and then therefore this is a great feature. The viewing angle is adjustable up and down 45 degrees, the video compression is H.264 and the resolution is adjustable at 1280 x 720 / 640 x 368.

Some other great features include a built-in camera that has HD capabilities and the smartphone app to help control or take videos with the Pyle Audio® Smart Robot Vacuum. The Smart Robot Vacuum is now available for $289.99 at Pyleusa.com. For more information, visit https://www.pyleusa.com.

Below is the official press release that will also give you more information about the Pyle Audio® Smart Robot Vacuum. Hopefully I will be able to review it before the holidays and give you all a fair product review.pyle2

NEW YORK – Sept. 23, 2016 – Pyle Audio®, introduces the Smart Robot Vacuum with Built-in Camera. The Smart Robot Vacuum features six different cleaning modes. Users have the ability to control the Smart Vacuum from a smartphone to view the vacuum, change its direction and even set a weekly cleaning schedule, all while being away from the home. The Smart Robot Vacuum has twin side brushes that clean corners a typical vacuum cannot reach, while a multi-suction brush sweeps and collects dust into the vacuum. In video mode you are able to record and view in HD via the smartphone app.

Whatever the need, users can simply set the Smart Robot Vacuum to one of its seven different cleaning modes, and sit back as it takes on the task. No corner goes untouched with its six cleaning modes — automatic clean, corner clean, concentrated clean, manual clean, shadow clean and reservation clean. The reservation mode allows users to set the Smart Robot Vacuum to operate at the same time every day. Users can set it to clean while they are at work and come home to fresh, sparkling floors. Shadow mode detects and cleans shadowed areas users may not think to clean, like under furniture and beds. Its slim 3.4-inch height allows the Smart Robot Vacuum to scurry under just about everything and collect unseen dust and dirt.

Protect family and furniture using the Smart Robot Vacuum, while helping eliminate allergens and pet hair and dander. Pyle’s Smart Sensor System also ensures a user’s home stays beautiful by detecting obstacles and preventing collisions or scuffing.

Happy National Comic Book Day and Dallas Comic Con Fan Days 2016

by on September 25th, 2016

dallasfandaysHappy National Comic Book Day! Every year on the 25th of September comic book fans get to celebrate their love for comics that currently is an industry that totals over one billion dollars in sales annually. National Comic Book Day is a day when fans set aside their differences and celebrate together at their local comic book store. I have not been at my local comic book store on National Comic Book Day so I am uncertain how celebrated it is but seems like a fun way to spend your Sunday.fanday

Today also marks less than 3 weeks away to Dallas Comic Con Fan Days in Irving, Texas on October 14th through the 16th. This will be the last appearance of the stars of Batman, Adam West and Burt Ward at Dallas Comic Con Fan Days. They will also have the 1966 Batmobile on display the whole weekend for fans to check out.

The weekend of Dallas Comic Con Fan Days will also have several other attractions like photo ops with celebrities, panels, autograph sessions, and artist alley.  If you would like more information on attractions click here and for ticket information click here.

I hope to see all you guys at Dallas Comic Con Fan Days and check out the below article of the experts of Dallas Comic Con Fan days talking about National Comic Book Day and Dallas Comic Con Fan Days.

The Experts at Dallas Fan Days Talk Comics

Every year on Sept. 25, comic book readers, collectors, lovers and fans celebrate National Comic Book Day. Comic books – are they a hobby, a pastime, a casual form of entertainment? Try a billion dollar a year industry and a powerful consumer market. According to the latest estimate by ICV2 and Comichron, total comics and graphic novel sales in North America hit $1.03 billion in 2015, the first year for the industry to ever hit over a billion dollars in sales. Comic books are no longer just a cultural experience; they are an economic powerhouse.

At first thought, comic books may not be considered a largely sought-after product; however, the demand for their colorful pages and fascinating stories continues to climb. Sales in 2014 were up 8 percent from 2013, and 2015 sales were up 10 percent from 2014. As traditional fans of the comic book age and are now adults, the primary purchasers of comic books are adults between the ages of 25 and 44 according to ICV2 – individuals who have more disposable income to spend on a treasured form of entertainment. Their deep-seated love for comics is elevating the industry.

“Comic books have continued to become a cultural unifier,” says Andrew Moyes, show director of Dallas Fan Days™. “People all over the world can connect over their love and passion for comic books, and we see that at our conventions year after year.”

Whether it’s nostalgia or excitement over new superhero movies and TV shows, fans are showing their love for the comic book industry.

“At conventions across the country, we have seen an influx of new faces that have only been exposed to these comic characters through the movies, and the attendance has swelled to record numbers because of it. In stores, we have seen older customers who had stopped collecting or reading coming back in to catch up,” says Andy McMahon, owner of Duncanville Bookstore, a shop that offers a range of comic books, graphic novels, games, toys and action figures. “The DFW area has a large number of people still trying to collect every issue of a series. Because the DFW area is so diverse, our customers are willing to branch out and try new titles, which is nice to see because there are some great non-superhero titles being produced right now.”

Dallas Fan Days – one of the best comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming events in Texas and set to return Oct. 14-16, 2016, at the Irving Convention Center – will host comic guests such as: Neal Adams, Brandon Peterson, Jim Calafiore, Ty Templeton, Joe Eisma, Jeremy Clark, Sam de la Rosa, Ben Dunn, Steve Erwin, Scott Harben, Mike Krome, Andrew Mangum, Danita Mangum, Jason Metcalf, Ande Parks, Lawrence Reynolds, Marlin Snoop, K.T. Smith, Shaun Steven Struble and Jamie Tyndall.

IMAX® with Laser is Coming to Austin’s Bullock Museum

by on September 20th, 2016

As an Austin native I am excited to announce that Austin’s Bullock Museum will be THE first in Texas to feature IMAX® laser technology. It will be one of only a few in the world, to offer 2D and 3D movies using the new IMAX® with Laser system. The museum IMAX theatre has been closed for renovations for this new laser technology to be re-opened in October. For those geeks who have not visited the Bullock Museum this is a great opportunity to experience technology and history all in one beautiful museum located in the heart of downtown Austin.

The new laser projectors and enhanced 12-channel immersive audio systems are slated for full installation with the reopening in early October. The laser system will also include new 3D glasses that utilizes color filtering instead of the current 3D glasses that use polarized images. Combined with the use of two Laser 4K projectors, the Bullock Museum IMAX Theatre will offer the brightest, clearest 3D (and 2D) experience available.

imax-laser-glasses

I do have one small complaint and the same complaint I have with Oculus; can they make the design of the 3D glasses a tad more feminine? How will a lady look pretty for a date with these glasses on?

I have the unique opportunity to experience the new laser technology this week and will be posting event pictures and videos live plus tweeting at @nrpena, @cutegeek, and @hitechchic. Till then below is more information about the new IMAX® with Laser system’s movies and information on the Bullock Museum.

The Bullock Museum is located at 1800 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701 and the hours are Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

race-mastTomorrow I have the unique opportunity to attend the Lone Star Le Mans Race Preview and Driver Meet & Greet with Zonin Prosecco in Austin, Texas. The event is in preparation for the upcoming 2016 Lone Star Le Mans race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin with Zonin Prosecco also promoting the event.

The Lone Star Le Mans Race is something I have never attended after moving back to Austin in 2014 and was interested to learn the back story of the Lone Star Le Mans Race. Per the Circuit of the Americas site the Lone Star Le Mans Race is COTA’s twist on the world’s greatest endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will take place once again at COTA in Austin, Texas, from Thursday, September 15 to Saturday, September 17. The three-day event will culminate with almost nine hours of racing and entertainment, including its only night race to finish under the stars, topped off with a dazzling fireworks show presented by Texas Lottery.

lonestar

The event offers fans the opportunity to experience two premier sports car series for the only joint event on each of their schedules: the global FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the North American-based IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Circuit of The Americas’ 3.4-mile racetrack will be humming the entire weekend with cars from top manufacturers such as Audi, Toyota, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Chevrolet, and more. Also on track in both feature events will be the new Ford GTs, celebrating the brand’s return to top international sportscar racing.*

Pre-Race they have a fantastic event at HEB Grocery at Westlake on September 13th from 2pm to 6pm where fans may get an up close look at the team’s Ferrari race car that will be on display and meet the lead GT-Daytona drivers Allessandro Balzan and Christina Nielsen. Fan will also get to enjoy Zonin Prosecco and Balzan and Nielsen will be available for autographs and interviews about their successful season and next weekend’s IMSA GT Challenge.

I’m not a great driver but when I was a kid I got to see a Grand Prix and it was thrilling. I also raced on Ford’s race track at the annual Further with Ford event with me doing tailspins; mostly not on purpose.

Clearly not a race car driver. My struggle is what questions do I ask lead GT-Daytona drivers Allessandro Balzan and Christina Nielsen?

What do all you guys think or want me to ask them?

Below is the event’s information and also a form to send me what I should ask Allessandro Balzan and Christina Nielsen. I will also be tweeting the event live on the 13th at @nrpena, @hitechchic, and @cutegeek. Hope to see you guys there!

WHAT: Lone Star Le Mans Race Preview and Driver Meet & Greet with Zonin Prosecco

WHERE: HEB @ West Lake, The Village at Westlake, 701 Capital of Texas Hwy, West Lake Hills, TX 78746

WHEN: Tuesday, September 13th from 2pm – 6pm (Balzan and Nielsen from 4pm – 6pm)
