Firefox/Mozilla: Focus Keyboard Add-on

by on March 23rd, 2011

I’m sure you have been hearing all the buzz about Firefox 4.0. Well, if you’re a fan of the browser and shortcuts, I recommend you check out the Focus Keyboard Add-on. What is it? It allows you to use your browser with less keystrokes and mouse movements. Just one of it’s many features is the ctrl-v function (yes, also known as “paste”) and whatever you have on your “clip-board” will automatically paste into the address bar, without having to physically click on the address bar. It also allows you to select your preferences so you can use as many or as few of the shortcuts as you want. OOoo it’s magic, you knOOooow!

Anyways, enough singing from me, check out and download the Focus Keyboard add-on here.

What does IBM mean to you?

by on March 3rd, 2011

A little embarrassing fact that I have is that I didn’t know what IBM meant until I was in their training class during the summer of 2005…don’t tell anyone…

(It stands of International Business Machines btw)

Prior to joining IBM whenever I thought about it, not that I did it often, it was often due to being at a checkout counter and seeing IBM on their machines…oh yea – computers…those darn IBM computers were everywhere!

Yurbuds, A Runner’s and Fit-Geek’s Dream

by on March 2nd, 2011

While in Vegas for the CES conference this past Janurary, I was introduced to Yurbuds. I’m not a tri-athlete…yet, but I do try to exercise on a regular basis so naturally, I was very excited to test these out. Plus I’m always looking for the best and newest headphones.

What do you get when you buy Yurbuds?
·   Yurbuds Ironman Series Earphones – Fitted with red yurbuds – Light style
·   Extra red yurbuds – Intense style
·   Red Ironman nylon carrying case – Zippered pouch
·   Ironman trading cards – Inspirational stories of personal triumph
·   Quick-Start guide – Installation and care instructions

When I first opened them up, I immediately noticed the soft plastic that they’re made of. It’s for extra soft comfort! 😀 I used the Quick-Start guide to see how to use them, its a small card that shows a pictorial view of how to angel the headphones into your ears. At first I thought, “man these are too big for me, I’ll never like them.” Half a song into my jog, I forgot they were there. I’m not even exaggerating! It was like I was in my own little music room! They didn’t move, I could hardly feel them, they were plain amazing. Continue Reading…

Web Wednesday – RobWilson.tv & MarchMoneyMadness.net

by on March 2nd, 2011

In lieu of exhibiting just one website today, we decided to do two because they go hand in hand. The first one is RobWilson.tv – this is a website that uses various forms of technology to bring you the latest and greatest (most applicable) financial advice. Why? Because everyone is filing their taxes, receiving their tax refunds and then throwing their money away. Rob Wilson knows something most of us don’t…MONEY. Check out his website for weekly financial segments, taken from a local Pittsburgh television station-KDKA.

The other website is MarchMoneyMadness.net – in his own words, Rob says “In an effort to use the popularity of sports to teach people about finance, investing and the stock market, I’ve created a new online competition called March Money Madness. It works just like filling out a bracket for the NCAA Tournament, only instead of using 64 college basketball teams, I use 64 stocks!

Happy Birthday to CuteGeek.com!

by on March 1st, 2011

On March 1st 2009 we made our very first post “Welcome to CuteGeek.com!” and in these two years, we’ve come a long way since that very first welcome post. At first we were worried no one would visit us (who wouldn’t worry) but as the days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, we realized we shouldn’t worry so much.

Over the past two years we have featured Brilliant women such as Ann Finnie (HP) and Leslie Sobon (AMD), and brought you reviews on the 2011 Lincoln MKX and The Netgear Stora.
