Rock Band Adds More DLC Tracks From Nirvana and Foo Fighters!!

by on October 30th, 2009

One of my first CD’s when I was a kid was Nirvana and my first mosh pit experience was at a Foo Fighters concert.  Lets face it I just love Dave Grohl; nothing is more attractive to me then a man who can play any instrument and also sing (or belt out some great rock jams)!

Imagine my excitement this AM when I got this news from MTV and Harmonix Games about more Rockband DLC content for Nirvana and Foo Fighters.  If it wasn’t Halloween weekend (also Day light savings) I would be playing Rockband all weekend!  Fortunately it doesn’t come out till November 5th and I have next Sunday all day free and you can bet your sweet bippy I will be playing Rockband!

Cambridge, Mass. – Oct. 30, 2009 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that a three pack of tracks from Nirvana, a four pack of tracks from Foo Fighters and a single from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store…To see the full press release click here!

Review: JBL Duet II Speakers

by on October 28th, 2009

I was itching for new products to review.  I know it’s been a while since I have posted a review on cutegeek.com and it was about time to get back in the game (especially with the holidays and CES fast approaching).

The first product I got in the mail was some JBL Duet II speakers.  If someone told me 10 years ago I would be excited about getting a speakers shipment I would not believe them…Yet I was excited when I got the JBL Duet II multimedia two piece speaker system package (also bummed I would HAVE to return them).

Review: Ford’s 2010 Taurus – Limited Edition

by on October 27th, 2009

This is the biggest toy CuteGeek.com has ever received to review, or test drive, but boy was it one of the most enjoyable! Thanks Ford!

We received the car on Saturday and automatically started ‘road-tripping it up’ – aka we went to IKEA in Brooklyn. The weather was horrible – so horrible, the Yankee game got postponed, so you can only imagine the rivers this poor car had to drive through.

A Night At The Museum With HP!

by on October 27th, 2009

I’ve been asked why I give so many kudos to HP about their stuff and one of the main reasons is because they actually go out of their way, and are extremely flexible about showing you the ‘ins and the outs’ of all of their products. They’re really great people to work with (& hang out with – check out the pic below).

Final thoughts on the HTC Hero

by on October 27th, 2009

This wasn’t required but after seeing some of the comments on my initial video I figured, why the heck not?

At first I wanted to make a nice video, and give the Hero all the kudos in the world, but I can’t lie. I’m not a fan of the phone, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

New Ear Buds On the Way

by on October 22nd, 2009

One night I was up late practicing my hip hop dance skills with my Roxy/ JBL earbuds (more like a goofy attempt to recreate what my dance instructor showed me the day before) and all the sudden one side of the earbuds went out.  At first I thought; “oh no after several years of listening to music on full blast (plus being in a mosh pit at some major concerts) I have blown one ear drum out.”  EEK!

In a Zoolander attempt (the sound is IN the earbuds?!)  I took them out and somewhat “tapped”  them a couple times to see if maybe my attempt would in fact make the earbuds work.  I also did the classic reboot of my shuffle and worked with the cable to see if it was a “Nina” error. No more naked iPhones

by on October 22nd, 2009

Last week I got an email inviting me to test run a newly redesigned hard shell See-Thru iPhone case from Speck. While I know that some folks (like my boyfriend) are iPhone purists, and can’t stand the thought of putting a case on their beautiful babies which takes away from the essence of these babies’ beauty, I support protective coverings for my iPhone wholeheartedly.

Coming Soon: Brilliant Women in Technology

by on October 21st, 2009

women-150x150Back in January when Mike and I were brainstorming about what this site should entail, we both agreed that it would be beneficial to showcase some of the brilliant women in technology. By showcasing extraordinary women in technology, who are making strides for all of us, we’d be highlighting non-traditional careers women can pursue, while at the same time motivating more females to pursue degrees/careers in technology.

The role of women can be debated upon for hours, maybe even weeks without end, across the whole wide world, using all forms of technology but something that we’re seeing, despite cultural differences is that this once called ‘role’ of women is being redefined.

New Super Mario Bros for the Wii (less than a month away!)

by on October 21st, 2009

The last time I ever felt this excited during the holidays was during Christmas in 1990. I was 5 and the one thing I felt like I’d die without was the gift my mom got me. I had to search high and low for this picture at my mother’s house, but I knew once I found it – you’d understand why I decided to post.
