Is Google the next best thing gone bad?

by on March 13th, 2009

1_google_logoWe often hear different opinions about what a good thing can do to you. “Too much of a good thing is bad”. “Too much is not enough”. My absolute favorite, which I found on a magnet in Beyond Books Bookstore in Dallas, TX, was “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful” – almost wants to make ya fall in love right? SIKE.

So listen to this, there is now a rumor going around suggesting that Google may be the future’s Big Brother. The NY Daily News had an article this morning on the many special functionality/services Google provides and it also listed some of the dangers that they each entailed.

Great timing Google haters – just when I tell the world my ideal mate would have many qualities that Google currently possesses, it decides to tell me that some of its services can be used for stalking people…I guess Google now has more of a reason to be compared with the male species – haha, just kidding.

Read the article, it’s an interesting read.

Happy Friday everyone :)

I don’t trust google with anything anymore. Their moto use to be, “never do evil” or was it “do no evil” but times have changed and they do evil.

Im not sure if google still does this (but Im sure they do)…but Im against any site that saves your searches…what good is saving someones searches…only bad things could come of this…also…google make you lazy…libraries will be a thing of the past…also…too many people take internet…and especially top google sites as gosphel…not good…dont get me wrong…I use google…but I mix it up a bit with the hopes of different results…

Google save searches for 2 or 3 years. Microsoft and yahoo saves them for 90 days.

After reading this I believed it was pretty enlightening. I actually appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this informative article together. Once again I discover myself spending way too much time both browsing and leaving comments. However so what, it absolutely was still significant!

Say what you will, but I am still a firm believer in the company and the advances that they will bring to the table– advances that will significantly revolutionize the way we understand certain norms. For example, self driven cars (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/what-were-driving-at.html)? Their massive investments in genetic testing companies, as well as Google Ventures as an organization? I still think they’re brilliant.

Self Driven cars have been around for a while, I think the technology is already there to have it, its the lack of investment to turn our highways into highways that can support self driven cars. Should of used that stimulus dinero on that IMO.

I think Google is a great company lots of products and investment in different areas, but there comes a time when you can dabble in too much. The way Google and Microsoft and Apple are growing, I wouldnt be surprised if we see, SSI checks powered by eBay Paypal, Visa Card powered by Microsoft and toilet bowl internet powered by Google.
